Are you a Registered Family Child Care Provider?

CVCAC partners with registered family child care providers to offer comprehensive child and family services through the Head Start HomeStart option.

We provide on-the-ground support for you to enhance the care you provide to children, and we provide full Head Start or Early Head Start services for enrolled families.

As a provider enrolled in HomeStart, you will…

• Be supported by Head Start staff to develop a daily schedule that is developmentally appropriate for all children.
• Receive assistance with professional growth.
• Have access to Head Start staff and consultants who are experts in areas such as nutrition, mental health and family services.
• Be given support to involve parents.
• Receive a weekly stipend from Head Start, which is in addition to any payment from the Child Care Financial Assistance program or the family’s out of pocket payment for care.
• Be invited to attend Head Start in-service trainings and advisory committee meetings.

Families enrolled in the Head Start HomeStart option receive an orientation home visit, a minimum of three home visits and two teacher conferences.

Who is eligible? Registered Family Child Care Providers in Washington, Lamoille and Orange Counies who are in good standing with the state, currently serve two or more Head Start eligible children, and meet additional screening and selection criteria.
